About Western Nebraska

Western Nebraska is known for friendliness, hospitality, generosity, and serving others. In this community, there are no strangers – only family. We seek to build one another up and prosper through life together. If we see a need, we try to fill it by offering grieving neighbors warm meals, a place to stay for the night for friends who have lost their homes, or a drive to work if a co-worker’s car has broken down. Everyone is treated as a person with no strings attached. In Western Nebraska, you don’t just find a job. You find a home, a family, a place where you belong.

Cheyenne County is a very active area with service organizations and numerous community events, including High Plains Arts Council activities, Oktoberfest, Sidney Appreciation Days, and Gold Rush Days. Sidney has “Small Town Values, Big Time Opportunities” where people are valued and respected. Sidney is located less than three hours from the Denver metropolitan area and 100 miles east of Cheyenne, Wyoming.

In Sidney, Nebraska, there are numerous opportunities for volunteering, fun trails for biking or hiking, beautiful camping areas, and well-maintained parks for your kids to play. We also have exceptional schools to choose from, places to go shopping in nearby towns, and Lake McConaughy only a short drive away. With all these opportunities, there is truly something for everyone!
