Upgrading Our MRI

Big upgrades continue to happen at SRMC! Our Radiology Department is redefining imaging excellence through the purchase of a new MRI scanner, called Siemens MAGNETOM Altea 1.5 Tesla MRI Scanner. While patients are still required to hold still during scans, the new scanner will be more comfortable and allow greater flexibility for different positioning options. Many of the scans will be faster with higher resolution imaging and clearer quality to guarantee accurate results in a timely manner. Faster scans boost workflow efficiency while improving the patient experience.

The new scanner will also provide higher temporal resolution and will provide improved joint and spine imaging for people with specific orthopedic implants. Additionally, Radiology will be able to offer a wider variety of MRI exams, including prostate exams and select breast exams. Elevate your healthcare experience with the new Siemens MAGNETOM MRI at Sidney Regional Medical Center – where breakthrough technology meets compassionate care. Further upgrades that come with the new scanner include the following:

  • Unmatched precision: Experience high resolution imaging for precise diagnostics. The Biomatrix software addresses patient bio-variability and creates clearer images regardless of patient size. (550 lbs table weight limit.)
  • Rapid scanning: Siemens Turbo Suite offers faster scans and reduced room time.
  • Quiter scans: Offers neurology and orthopedic scans that can achieve a 70% reduction in sound pressure levels.
  • MRI Chiller System: Allows continuous operation even on the coldest winter days and the hottest summer blaze.

SRMC began the process of transforming the MRI room on February 8th, and it is now fully remodeled with the new MRI ready for use! If you need an MRI scan, speak with your provider to get one scheduled.
